SaskBJJ is committed to providing clear standards, practical tools, and professional development opportunities to support coaches at all levels.

Mentoring & Support
New coaches and instructors are encouraged to access our coaching mentorship network. SaskBJJ offers:
- Peer mentorship from experienced coaches
- Assistance in meeting Respect in Sport and membership requirements
- Support for building beginner-friendly and inclusive training environments
- Guidance for transitioning into coaching from athlete or assistant roles

Coach Code of Conduct
All coaches are expected to uphold the highest standards of professionalism, integrity, and respect, both on and off the mats. The SaskBJJ Coach Code of Conduct includes:
- Promoting a safe and inclusive environment for all athletes
- Modeling respectful behavior toward athletes, referees, parents, and fellow coaches
- Encouraging fair play, sportsmanship, and a growth mindset
- Abiding by all SaskBJJ competition and club guidelines
- Taking responsibility for athlete well-being and ethical development
Violations of the Code of Conduct may result in suspension or removal of coaching privileges at SaskBJJ events.
Respect in Sport Policy
To coach at any SaskBJJ-sanctioned event, all coaches must:
- Hold a valid SaskBJJ Coach Membership
- Be registered in the Respect in Sport for Activity Leaders program
- Successfully complete the online Respect in Sport certification and send proof of completion to contact@saskbjj.ca
