Welcome to the Saskatchewan Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (SBJJF)
The Saskatchewan Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (SBJJF) is proud to support and promote the growth of Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) across our province since 2014. Whether you’re a parent of a young athlete, a dedicated competitor, or a coach guiding the next generation, our mission is to create a safe, respectful, and structured environment where everyone can thrive through BJJ.
Our Mission
At the SBJJF, we are committed to:
- Supporting BJJ athletes of all levels
- Providing high-quality programs, courses, and events
- Promoting safety, fairness, and inclusion in the sport
- Aligning with national and international standards
We are proud members of the Canadian Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Association (CBJJA), which helps us maintain national consistency in rules, ranking systems, and competition formats. We also model many of our practices on the International Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu Federation (IBJJF), a globally recognized standard in the sport.
Why Policies Matter
Our policies are in place to protect your rights and well-being, whether you’re a student stepping onto the mat, a parent entrusting us with your child’s athletic journey, or a coach creating a safe learning environment. These policies:
- Ensure health and safety during training and competitions
- Promote fairness and equal access to opportunities
- Protect all members from discrimination or misconduct
- Maintain the integrity and professionalism of the sport
Who Needs to Know the Policies?
All members of the SBJJF community—including:
- Athletes
- Parents and guardians
- Coaches
- Academy owners
- Official
- Board members
…are expected to understand and follow our policies. Coaches and leaders have added responsibilities to ensure everyone in their care is informed and supported.
Commitment to Continuous Improvement
The SBJJF regularly reviews and updates our policies to keep up with the evolving needs of our sport and community. We want all members to feel confident that they are part of a safe, fair, and forward-thinking organization.
If you have any questions about our programs, events, or policies, we encourage you to reach out. Together, we’re building a strong and supportive BJJ community in Saskatchewan.
