
Saskatchewan Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (SBJJF)
All members of the Saskatchewan Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Federation (SBJJF) are expected to uphold the highest standards of integrity, sportsmanship, and respect both on and off the mat. This Code of Conduct applies to all SBJJF-sanctioned classes, competitions, events, and online communications.
By registering as a member, individuals agree to adhere to the following principles and expectations:
- Integrity and Fair Play
- Compete with honesty and respect for the rules.
- Match-fixing, betting on matches, or any form of manipulation is strictly prohibited.
- Respect the outcome of matches and the decisions of officials.
- Report known or suspected breaches of integrity to SBJJF.
- Respect and Inclusivity
- Treat all participants with dignity and respect, regardless of race, gender identity, sexual orientation, age, ability, or religion.
- Harassment, discrimination, bullying, or hate speech of any kind will not be tolerated, whether in person or online.
- Foster a welcoming and inclusive training and competition environment.
- Sportsmanship
- Shake hands or show respectful acknowledgment before and after matches.
- Accept victories with humility and defeat with grace.
- Encourage and support fellow athletes at all levels.
- Harassment and Safeguarding
- Verbal, physical, emotional, or sexual harassment is strictly prohibited.
- Coaches, officials, and volunteers must maintain appropriate professional boundaries.
- All complaints or concerns will be treated seriously and handled with confidentiality and care.
- SBJJF is committed to providing a safe environment for youth and adults alike.
- Professional Conduct
- All members, coaches, and officials must conduct themselves professionally in person and online.
- Inappropriate language, gossip, personal attacks, or unprofessional behavior will not be tolerated.
- Coaches and instructors are expected to be role models and maintain a positive learning environment.
- Health and Hygiene
- Maintain personal cleanliness and wash training gear regularly.
- Remove jewelry and trim nails before training.
- Do not participate in training or events while sick or contagious.
- Report any injuries or unsafe conditions to event or facility staff.
- Digital Conduct
- Online behavior should reflect the same standards as in-person conduct.
- Do not engage in harassment, bullying, or unprofessional commentary on social media, forums, or messaging platforms related to SBJJF.
- Reporting and Enforcement
- Violations of this Code may result in disciplinary action, including warnings, suspension, or revocation of membership.

- Agreement
By registering with the SBJJF, all members acknowledge that they have read, understand, and agree to abide by this Code of Conduct, along with all other SBJJF bylaws, rules, and policies.
